A Class 11 student from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, has died after suffering severe health complications linked to prolonged consumption of fast food. The teenager, identified as Ahana, passed away while undergoing treatment at AIIMS Delhi.

According to doctors, Ahana’s condition deteriorated due to long-term unhealthy eating habits that severely damaged her digestive system. Medical examinations revealed that her intestines had adhered to each other, leading to complete digestive failure. Despite surgical intervention, doctors were unable to save her.

Family members said Ahana had been fond of fast food such as chowmein, pizza and burgers since childhood and rarely ate home-cooked meals. They believe this lifestyle eventually led to the critical condition that claimed her life.

The incident occurred in Afghan Mohalla area of Amroha and has left the family and local community in deep shock.

Ahana’s health reportedly worsened suddenly on November 28, when she complained of intense stomach pain. She was initially taken to a hospital in Amroha and later referred to Moradabad after her condition failed to improve.

Doctors in Moradabad found significant intestinal damage along with excessive fluid accumulation in her abdomen. Surgeon Dr Riaz performed an operation and removed nearly seven litres of fluid. Following a brief improvement, Ahana was taken to Delhi by her uncle, Sajid Khan, for advanced treatment.

At AIIMS Delhi, doctors confirmed that her intestines had fused together, further complicating her condition. Despite continuous medical care, her health declined rapidly. Late on December 21, Ahana suffered a sudden deterioration and died due to heart failure.

Medical experts have cautioned that excessive intake of fast food can cause serious and irreversible damage to the digestive system, particularly in children and young adults. This tragic case highlights the potentially fatal consequences of unhealthy dietary habits at a young age.
