Lucknow, Read: UPTA State Tennis Tournament started on Tuesday at Mini Stadium. Players from boys, girls, men and women categories from under 10 to open category are participating from across the state. Organizing Secretary of UP State Tennis Tournament, Samit Kesari said that for the first time in this competition, senior category has also been included in this competition.

Uttar Pradesh Tennis Association (UPTA) Secretary Puneet Agarwal welcomed everyone on the inaugural occasion. The inauguration was done by UPTA President Navneet Sehgal. Home Secretary Atal Rai was present on this occasion. On this occasion, he also got introduced to a large number of players. On the inauguration occasion, Navneet Sehgal said that UPTA is trying to nurture talent at the grass root level.

Special guest Atal Rai said that the state government is constantly trying to develop such a sports ecosystem in the state that talent can be identified at the grassroots level and it gets full support. Qualifying rounds of different age groups were played on the first day.
