For VIP darshan at Vaishno Devi, you can book Shraddha Suman Special Puja (SSVP) package. Additionally, families of Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and Paramilitary forces can get free VIP pass from Niharika Complex in Katra by showing their valid identity cards.
If you can opt for a palanquin or horse ride, these rides are available at the starting point and Sanji Terrace and drop you straight to the spot where the queues for the temple entrance begin. You can also take helicopter service. There are many shops and eateries on the way, where prasad, snacks, cold drinks, water etc. are available.
