Tokyo: A violent incident unfolded at a rubber manufacturing facility in central Japan on Friday, where a man was detained after attacking eight individuals and injuring seven others with what is suspected to be bleach.
According to officials from the Fujisan Nanto Fire Department, the assault occurred at the Yokohama Rubber Company located in Mishima, Shizuoka prefecture, which is situated west of Tokyo. Eight victims were transported to local hospitals following the stabbings.
Reports indicate that five of the injured individuals are in critical condition, although further information remains scarce.
Authorities from the Shizuoka prefectural police confirmed the arrest of a 38-year-old suspect on charges of attempted murder at the scene, but additional details about the incident have not been disclosed.
In addition to the stabbings, seven other people sustained injuries from bleach that was thrown during the attack, as reported by the fire department.
