Bengaluru: An NIA team inspected the site near Mysuru's Jayamarthanda Gate on Friday, where a balloon gas cylinder explosion recently claimed one life.
The blast occurred when a nitrogen gas cylinder used to fill balloons exploded, resulting in the immediate death of one individual and leaving five others critically injured.
The incident took place during the Winter Festival (Maghi Utsava) at the Palace Grounds, which was crowded due to Christmas celebrations.
A 44-year-old balloon vendor died on the spot. The injured have been identified as Lakshmi from Bengaluru, Manjula from Nanjungud, Shahina Shabir from Kolkata, and Kotresh from Ranebennur. They are currently receiving treatment at K.R. Hospital, with Manjula and Lakshmi reported to be in critical condition.
