Be it Christmas or Valentine’s Day, Bajrang Dal has always been vocal against these festivals. Nowadays, this protest has started becoming visible not only on the streets but also on social media. But posting an objectionable status on social media proved costly for a Bajrang Dal worker in Navi Mumbai. This person named Arjun Singh would never have imagined even in his dreams that a status posted on his mobile would become a big problem for him and there would be a fatal attack on him.
The incident started when Arjun Singh was working as usual at his mobile shop. It can be clearly seen in the CCTV footage installed in the shop that in the initial moments four boys were standing in Arjun’s shop and talking to him. At first glance it seemed that these boys were discussing some problem with their mobile. But then the atmosphere suddenly changed and within no time a large and angry crowd of 20 to 30 people forcibly entered the shop.
The mob attacked Arjun Singh without giving him any chance. The attackers started beating Arjun with whatever they had in their hands—be it kicks, punches or slippers and shoes. In the video, a person is also seen attacking with a plastic bucket and pot kept in the shop. The limit was reached when one of the attackers picked up a heavy plastic drum kept nearby and hit it on Arjun. Arjun Singh did not even get a chance to recover and just kept trying to save himself while the crowd kept attacking him.
Even after severe beating, the anger of the attackers did not subside. They fled from the spot while warning and threatening Arjun Singh of dire consequences. However, this entire act of the attackers has been captured in the CCTV camera installed in the shop. Based on this footage, the police have registered the case and have identified the accused and started searching for them. Police say that this entire dispute started with a status posted on social media, which took a violent turn.
