Bihar: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms Vijay Kumar Sinha’s recent actions have caused a stir inside the department, with certain bureaucrats voicing discomfort over his strict stance against land-related issues.

The Circle Officers’ Association, apparently concerned about the repercussions of the minister’s severe orders, has written to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to request his assistance in reaction to the happenings.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha responded resolutely, declaring that the time of warnings is over and that definitive action against the land mafia and brokers has started. He also made it plain that he would not give in to pressure.

Speaking about the matter on Saturday, Sinha said that a week before, a clear warning had already been given. He directed all tax officials and circle officers to take strong legal action against anybody using falsified paperwork to unlawfully seize land or instigate disputes about true ownership.

He gave staff instructions to record instances after appropriate verification and make sure that no illicit behavior is missed.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that brokers, intermediaries, and land mafia engaged in land-related fraud must be directly targeted and warned that any circle official who does not take action against them would be subject to departmental charges.

Additionally, Vijay Sinha warned department personnel who are suspected of having land mafia sympathies that if remedial action is not taken, no one would be spared.

He said that neither residents nor officials are mistreated or insulted during public grievance redressal programs, and that these exchanges have previously settled thousands of land-related issues.

“Those disturbed by the ongoing changes are the ones attempting to obstruct the reform process,” Sinha remarked in reference to opposition to his policies.

He went on to say that neither the association nor anybody else has been in touch with him personally.

He said, “I will never yield to pressure and I have never accepted disorder.”

By introducing the Partition and Mutation Portal, the Bihar government has made significant progress in streamlining land-related processes.

The new digital technology greatly simplifies the property division procedure by enabling the names of all family members to be entered into land records using a single application.

By tackling persistent problems of delay, complexity, and lack of transparency, the project is anticipated to provide significant relief to landowners.

Citizens may call the toll-free hotline at 1800-345-6215 for technical assistance.

Up until recently, each shareholder had to submit a separate application for mutation after a family land division, which made the procedure time-consuming and laborious. The new approach will save time and minimize conflicts by updating property records for all legal heirs with a single mutation application.
