There was a stampede during the premiere screening
Let us tell you that on December 4, 2024, a huge crowd had gathered to get a glimpse of Allu Arjun during the premiere screening at the evening theater of RTC X Roads, Hyderabad. Due to this, a stampede broke out there, in which 35-year-old woman Revathi died and her minor son Shritej suffered from lack of oxygen, which led to serious complications. The police investigation concluded that the tragedy was the result of gross negligence and failure to follow safety protocols.
The management and owners of Sandhya Theater have been named in the charge sheet for failing to enforce crowd control measures despite knowing about the actor’s visit. Actor Allu Arjun has been named for allegedly going ahead with the yatra despite high-risk crowd conditions and lack of coordination with local authorities.
The list of 24 persons also includes Allu Arjun’s personal manager, his staff members and eight personal bouncers whose actions allegedly escalated the chaos. The police report highlights several serious lapses that led to the fatal incident. The theater management is accused of negligence as they failed to provide separate entry and exit points for VIP guests. During the investigation it was noted that the police had specifically denied permission for the actor’s presence due to security concerns.
Investigators alleged that the movement of private security teams and certain gestures made towards the crowd led to the escalation. Charges have been filed against the theater owners under IPC section 304-A (causing death by negligence) along with other sections of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS).
