As the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections approach, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Saturday that discussions regarding seat sharing within the Mahayuti alliance are underway, hinting at a potential resolution to existing stalemates. Fadnavis stated that there are very positive discussions regarding seat allocation within the Mahayuti alliance. He expressed optimism that the current deadlock would soon be resolved. The alliance is indeed set to happen without any hindrances. His remarks came in the context of the coalition's preparations for the BMC elections, particularly against the backdrop of the Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's alliance. Earlier this month, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had asserted that the Mahayuti alliance would contest the upcoming elections together at both local and state levels, emphasizing that the developmental work accomplished by the government over the past three and a half years would form the basis of their campaign.

Shinde told the media, 'We will contest as Mahayuti at both local and senior levels. Over the past three and a half years, we have completed numerous development projects and presented them to the public. We will fight this election based on our agenda of development and progress. The public is wise.' Earlier this week, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray announced their alliance ahead of the BMC elections. This political reunion of the Thackeray brothers, who have been apart for years, has sparked intense reactions in the political arena.

In response to these developments, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis remarked that Uddhav Thackeray and his party have revealed their true character by allying with groups engaged in anti-national and harmful activities solely to gain votes, warning that the public will respond strongly to such actions.
