Pakistani actress Rushna Khan, currently receiving acclaim for her role as Kiran in the courtroom drama Case No. 9, recently opened up about her experience working on the project during a Geo TV podcast hosted by Mubashir Hashmi.
Rushna, who previously appeared in popular dramas like Mohabbat Chordi Maine and Mujhe Khuda Pe Yaqeen Hai, revealed that she was thrilled when 7th Sky Entertainment offered her the role. “Case No. 9 was a dream project for me. The writing, the set, and the overall execution were surreal. It’s a type of drama that we should see more of in Pakistan,” she said.
Discussing her character, Rushna described Kiran as a “layered character” — outwardly composed but internally struggling. Kiran’s journey as a mother dealing with postpartum depression added complexity to her role, making it both challenging and rewarding to portray.
Rushna also shared her experience working alongside veteran actors Faysal Quraishi and Saba Qamar. Initially nervous about sharing the screen with such big names, she said, “Once I entered the scene, I focused entirely on my character. Faysal and Saba made me feel comfortable and valued. They never made me feel lesser.”
She praised Saba Qamar for her dedication and talent, calling her a “powerhouse” who delivered her emotionally charged scenes with perfection. Rushna noted that the caliber of her co-actors greatly enhanced her own performance, making Case No. 9 a memorable project for her career.
