Tezzbuzz Desk – If you use Nothing’s CMF smartphone then there is good news for you. The company has started the rollout of Nothing OS 4.0 for its smartphones. This new update is based on Android 16 and currently CMF Phone 1 users have started receiving it. At the same time, this update for CMF Phone 2 Pro will be released in the beginning of January. According to the company, Nothing OS 4.0 focuses on clean interface, better multitasking and more customization, making daily use smoother and smarter than before.
Nothing OS 4.0 has been designed on the basis of Android 16. In this, the system interface has been redesigned, where the icons have been given a more balanced and minimal look. The status bar indicators and quick settings layout have also been simplified, so that important options can be accessed quickly. The company says that this change will give users a more peaceful and intuitive experience, in which special attention has been paid to visual clarity.
Nothing OS 4.0 has an upgraded Extra Dark Mode, which offers deeper blacks and better contrast than before. This not only causes less strain on the eyes, but also improves battery backup. The readability of notifications, quick settings and app drawer has also been improved. The special thing is that now this mode also supports first-party apps like Essential Space, which is a big advantage for those who use the phone for a long time.
Customization has been given a new level in Nothing OS 4.0. New widgets of 1×1 and 2×1 size have been added for apps like Weather, Pedometer and Screen Time. This allows users to see more information on a compact home screen. Multitasking has also been improved. The pop-up view is now smoother, with swipe gestures to easily switch between two floating apps. Apart from this, Hidden Apps feature is also provided, due to which the app drawer remains more clean and organized.
System animations have been made smoother in Nothing OS 4.0. There is a slight background scaling effect when opening and closing the app, which makes the entire visual experience better. Gesture response now feels faster and more natural than before. Additionally, haptic feedback has also been improved. Minimizing or maximizing the volume provides a slight vibration, which gives the user a better tactile feel.
