To give daughters equal rights in society and make their education easier, the Rajasthan government is running a scheme that provides financial assistance to girls from birth. This scheme, running in Rajasthan, is called the Rajshree Yojana. The government has been running it for many years. The scheme was launched by the state government on June 1, 2016.
The government had several reasons for starting the Rajshree Yojana. The main reasons for creating this scheme were to reduce inequalities between boys and girls, prevent female feticide, and help them complete their education.
How and when to avail the benefits of the scheme?
The first installment of Rs 2500 is given upon the birth of the girl child. However, the condition is that the child must be born in a government or registered private healthcare facility. When the child turns one year old, after receiving all vaccinations, financial assistance of Rs 2500 will be provided. The third installment will be given when the child enrolls in the first grade of a government school, in which she will receive approximately Rs 4000. As soon as the child enters the fourth grade, she will receive Rs 5000 in her installment. An amount of Rs 11000 will be given when the child enters the tenth grade. The largest installment will be given when the child successfully completes her 12th grade education. This amounts to approximately Rs 25000.
How to avail the benefits?
The application process has been kept quite simple by the government. You can easily apply through the Child Development Department or the relevant online portal issued by the state.
You can only avail the benefits by fulfilling these conditions:
Only girls born after the implementation of the scheme can benefit from this scheme.
The installment benefits will only be provided if the child is born in a government or registered medical institution. Only those who have always lived in Rajasthan or are native residents of the state will receive the installment benefits.
