Nowadays, momos have become the favorite street food of children and adults alike. Cheap, tasty and easily available, momos become the first choice when one feels hungry. But do you know that eating momos frequently and in large quantities can prove dangerous for your health? Especially the momos sold on the roadside can give rise to many serious diseases.

1. Problems to digestive system

The flour used in making momos is heavy to digest. Eating too much flour can increase problems like gas, acidity, constipation and stomach pain. People with weak digestion may suffer special harm from this.

2. Risk of food poisoning

Lack of cleanliness is common in street food. Consumption of stale vegetables, spoiled meat and dirty water increases the risk of food poisoning, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach infections.

3. Obesity and weight gain

Momos have less nutrition and more calories. The accompanying spicy chutney and mayonnaise can increase weight rapidly, leading to obesity and diseases.

4. Heart diseases

Momos chutney contains more salt and sodium. Consuming it regularly can cause high blood pressure and heart problems.

5. Weak immunity

Lack of nutrients and frequent consumption of junk food weakens the body’s immunity. Due to this, cold, viral infection and other diseases are caught quickly.

6. More dangerous for children

The digestive system of children is weak. Excessive consumption of momos can have a bad effect on their stomach, weight and immunity.

How to eat momos, so that the harm is reduced?

  • Give preference to home made momos
  • Use wheat or multigrain flour instead of flour
  • increase the amount of vegetables
  • Take chutney in limited quantity
  • Do not eat more than once a week

Momos may be delicious in taste, but for health, it is wise to eat them in limited quantity. The habit of eating street momos daily or repeatedly can invite many serious diseases. It is better to maintain a balance between taste and health.
