Growing saffron at home does not require much.

  • Good, healthy bulbs (pulp) of saffron.
  • Tray
  • Light, friable and well-drained soil
  • An open but shady place

How to grow saffron at home?

  1. First of all buy quality saffron bulbs from an online nursery or garden store. They should not be dry, hard and damaged.
  2. The soil should be sieved well. Saffron does not need too much moisture, so be careful not to get waterlogged.
  3. While planting the bulb in the pot, its pointed part should be placed upwards. Keep a little distance between each bulb.
  4. The gum should be kept in the shade, but in an open place, not in the direct sun until the sprouts sprout.
  5. Cover the pot with netting to protect it from rats or monkeys.
