XDiavel V4: Ducati has strengthened its presence in the Indian premium motorcycle market with the introduction of the new XDiavel V4. This latest offering represents a significant evolution in the sports cruiser category, combining aggressive performance with long-distance comfort and unmistakable Italian design. The new model replaces the earlier twin-cylinder version and brings with it advanced engineering inspired by Ducati’s racing heritage.
The Ducati XDiavel V4 has been developed to appeal to riders who want cruiser-style ergonomics without compromising on performance. It sits at the intersection of muscle cruiser aesthetics and superbike-derived technology, offering a unique riding experience that stands apart from conventional cruisers available in India. With this launch, Ducati aims to attract enthusiasts looking for both visual drama and cutting-edge mechanical innovation.
The new Ducati XDiavel V4 is positioned firmly in the premium segment. It is priced at Rs 30.89 lakh ex-showroom for the Burning Red colour option, while the Black Lava variant comes in at Rs 31.19 lakh ex-showroom. These exclusive metallic shades have been created specifically for this model, enhancing its distinct identity and premium appeal.
Powering the XDiavel V4 is the 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine, a motor that shares its DNA with Ducati’s racing and superbike platforms. This engine delivers 168 bhp at 10,750 rpm and 126 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, placing it among the most powerful cruisers currently available in the Indian market. The performance figures translate into exhilarating acceleration, with Ducati claiming a 0 to 100 kmph time of under three seconds.
A key highlight of this engine is the counter-rotating crankshaft, a feature borrowed from MotoGP technology. This system reduces gyroscopic forces, making the motorcycle feel lighter and more agile, especially during cornering and rapid direction changes. Despite its muscular appearance, the XDiavel V4 promises responsive handling and confidence-inspiring dynamics.
Ducati has focused heavily on rider and passenger comfort while redesigning the XDiavel V4. The seat height has been kept low at 770 mm, making it accessible to a wide range of riders. The handlebar position has been revised to improve control during slow-speed manoeuvres, an important consideration for a motorcycle of this size.
Rear suspension travel has been increased by 25 mm, improving ride quality on uneven surfaces. Both rider and pillion seats are now wider and better cushioned, ensuring enhanced comfort during long journeys. The addition of a standard grab handle and a more spacious pillion seat reinforces the bike’s touring credentials.
Visually, the XDiavel V4 remains true to its bold and aggressive character. The exposed single-sided swingarm highlights the massive 240-section rear tyre, while the sculpted fuel tank and four-exit exhaust system contribute to its commanding stance. Full-LED lighting with distinctive daytime running lights and a welcome animation adds a modern and premium touch, especially during night-time rides.
Despite its imposing dimensions, Ducati has managed to reduce weight compared to the previous generation. The XDiavel V4 has a kerb weight of 229 kg, making it approximately 6 kg lighter than its predecessor. This weight reduction plays a crucial role in enhancing overall handling and rider confidence.
Braking duties are handled by twin 330 mm front discs paired with Brembo Stylema calipers, delivering strong and consistent stopping power. The braking system is supported by cornering ABS, ensuring safety even during aggressive riding or emergency situations.
Advanced electronics are central to managing the immense performance of the XDiavel V4. The motorcycle is equipped with a 6-axis IMU that enables features such as traction control, wheelie control, launch control, cruise control, and a bi-directional quickshifter. Riders can select from four riding modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, and Wet, along with three power modes to suit different riding conditions.
All electronic settings are accessed through a new 6.9-inch TFT display that supports smartphone connectivity and optional turn-by-turn navigation, enhancing convenience and usability.
Ducati offers a wide range of accessories through its performance catalogue. Touring enthusiasts can opt for panniers, windshields, comfort seats, and a pillion backrest, while riders seeking a sportier look can choose a single-seat tail section, performance exhaust systems, and carbon fibre components. These options allow owners to personalise the XDiavel V4 according to their riding style and preferences.
