New Delhi: In the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 young Bihar batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi was once again expected to play a big innings. He got off to a blistering start in the match against Meghalaya but this time he couldn’t extend his innings.
Fast start but no big score
In the Plate Group match played at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened the innings for Bihar. He scored 31 runs off just 10 balls including 6 fours and 1 six. His strike rate of 310 thrilled spectators.
How the 14-year-old Vaibhav lost his wicket
Chasing a target of 218 runs Vaibhav who gave Bihar a quick start was dismissed by Meghalaya bowler Akash Kumar. On the first ball of the fifth over Dippu took his catch giving Bihar their first setback.
Missed a match yet still in the spotlight
Vaibhav Suryavanshi who represents Rajasthan Royals in the IPL did not play every match this season. He missed the second match against Manipur but despite this his name continues to remain in the headlines.
Made history in the first match
In the very first match of the season against Arunachal Pradesh Vaibhav played an explosive innings of 190 runs off 84 balls. In that match he completed his century in 36 balls which is the fourth-fastest List A century by an Indian. Not only that he also completed 150 runs in 59 balls.
