Bengaluru: Kannada and Tamil television actress Nandini CM was found dead at her residence in Bengaluru’s RR Nagar area, police said on Sunday. The incident is suspected to be a case of suicide, though the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained.

Nandini had acted in several popular Kannada and Tamil television serials and was well known among small-screen audiences. In Kannada, she appeared in serials such as Jeeva Hoovagide, Neenade Naa, Sangharsha and Madhumagalu. She also gained popularity in Tamil television through her role as the lead character in the serial Gowri, where she earned a strong fan following. Her performances in the roles of ‘Durga’ and ‘Kanaka’ were particularly appreciated by viewers.

According to sources, Nandini was a native of Kotturu and had been residing in a paying guest accommodation in Bengaluru. Reports indicate that she left behind a death note addressed to her mother.

In a tragic coincidence, one of her recent television roles reportedly involved a scene where her character consumes poison. However, police have clarified that this has no confirmed connection to the real-life incident.

The police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to her death. Further details are awaited.
