The biggest news this year was for the middle class. For the first time in history, annual income up to Rs 12 lakh has been made completely tax free. The new 'Income Tax Act 2025' has been implemented by abolishing the old and complex Income Tax Act of 1961. With this, paying taxes has no longer become a headache but an easy process.
Making a major change in GST, only two slabs of 5% and 18% have been kept. This has not only reduced the expenses of households, but has also reduced the burden on small industries and farmers. Its direct effect was seen in the form of increased demand and purchases in the market during festivals. For small traders, the definition of 'small company' has been changed to Rs 100 crore turnover.
The government has repealed hundreds of old laws under 'public trust'. 71 such acts have been removed which were meaningless in today's times. To ease maritime trade, five new bills were passed in the monsoon session, which will reduce the cost of logistics. Apart from this, making historic reforms in labor law, 4 codes have been created by combining 29 laws.
With these reforms, employees have been guaranteed timely salary and social security. At the same time, under the 'Developed India - GRAM G Act 2025', the employment guarantee for rural India has been increased from 100 days to 125 days. This will increase the income of people in villages and strengthen the infrastructure.
100% FDI has been allowed in the insurance sector, which will provide better insurance options to the people. At the same time, 'SHANTI Act' will prove to be a game changer in the field of nuclear energy. Along with meeting the power needs of AI and data centers, it will also help in healthcare and farming.
Major changes have also been made in the field of education. Now instead of separate institutions like UGC and AICTE, a single regulator 'Developed India Education Foundation' will work. Trade agreements with countries like Britain and Oman have opened up world markets for Indian products. In the end, PM Modi has appealed to everyone to have faith and invest in this development journey of India.
