India defeated Sri Lanka by 15 runs in the fifth T20, won the series 5-0, Harmanpreet Kaur played the captaincy innings in the last match.

The Indian women’s cricket team has won the five-match T20 series being played between India and Sri Lanka 5-0. The last match was played at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, in which the Indian team defeated Sri Lanka by 15 runs. Actually, after winning the toss, the Sri Lankan team had decided to bowl first. The Indian team had scored 175 runs in 20 overs. In reply, the Sri Lankan team fell 15 runs short of the target and could score only 160 runs.

In the last match, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur played a brilliant inning of 68 runs in 43 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur decorated the innings with four fours and a brilliant six. At the same time, Amanjot Kaur and Arundhati Reddy also played important innings and took India to a strong score.

Arundhati Reddy scored a blazing 27 runs in 11 balls.

Batting first, Shafali Verma and G Kamalini came on the field as openers for the Indian team. Shafali Verma scored only five runs in six balls, due to which the Indian team suffered the first blow on the score of five runs. Whereas G Kamalini also returned to the pavilion after scoring only 12 runs. Harleen Deol also scored only 13 runs. India had lost three important wickets on the score of 41 runs. After this Harmanpreet Kaur played an important inning of 68 runs. However, apart from them, Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma could not score much runs. Amanjot Kaur scored 21 runs in 18 balls, while Arundhati Reddy scored a blistering 27 runs in 11 balls. Arundhati Reddy also hit a brilliant six along with fours, due to which the Indian team was successful in scoring 175 runs in 20 overs.

Sri Lankan team remained only 15 runs away from the target

Sri Lanka, while chasing the target of 176 runs, did not have a good start. The team lost its first wicket on the score of only seven runs. Actually, Chamari Athapaththu returned to the pavilion after scoring two runs. After this Hasini Perera and Imisha Dulani took over the innings. Both the batsmen played brilliant innings and changed the course of the match. Hasini Perera scored 65 runs in 42 balls, while Imisha Dulani scored 50 runs in 39 balls. However, apart from these two, no other batsman could stay on the crease. For India, Deepti Sharma, Arundhati Reddy, Sneh Rana, Vaishnavi Sharma, Sricharani and Amanjot Kaur took one wicket each. India won the last match by 15 runs and won the series 5-0.
