The Customs Department announced on Tuesday that approximately 200 grams of gold was confiscated from a passenger who had concealed it in their jeans at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI).

The department reported that the passenger was intercepted upon arrival from Riyadh on Monday. Initially, no suspicious items were found during the baggage inspection.

However, the Customs Department noted in a post on social media, "Due to the passenger's suspicious behavior, a thorough search was conducted, leading to the discovery of two strips of yellow chemical paste hidden in the jeans, believed to be made of gold. The total weight of the seized items is 196.5 grams."

The gold has since been confiscated by the authorities.
