PM Shri Air Ambulance Service MP: The Madhya Pradesh government's ambitious health initiative, the PM Shri Air Ambulance Service, is setting a new standard for emergency medical transport in the state. Launched to provide timely, high-quality treatment to critically ill patients, this service has so far provided life-saving assistance to 118 beneficiaries. This facility is being provided completely free of charge to eligible patients under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder treatment. This service is proving particularly crucial in situations where every minute is critical in determining life and death.

Relief for all age groups, from newborns to senior citizens
The state government has made a 24/7 air ambulance facility available from Bhopal to the entire state. Within just a few months of its launch, the service has ensured timely treatment for newborns, senior citizens, patients injured in road accidents, and those suffering from heart attacks and neurological emergencies, as well as in sensitive cases such as organ transplants.

The utilization of the air ambulance service has increased by 22% in the financial year 2025-26. The average utilization of fixed-wing air ambulances has increased by 30%, and that of helicopter ambulances by 17%.
Officials stated, "This service is a powerful example of how advanced medical transport, available promptly during emergencies, can save countless precious lives."

New Standard Operating Procedure Implemented
A revised Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been prepared for the expansion of the service. The approval and eligibility process has been simplified. It also includes provisions for organ donation transport, disaster management, and special medical teams.

Administrative Coordination and Public Awareness
The state government has conducted review meetings and video conferences to provide regular guidance to Chief Medical and Health Officers, Civil Surgeons, and District Collectors. In addition, a comprehensive awareness campaign is being conducted among the general public regarding the air ambulance facility.
