Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, a senior political figure from Bihar and the elder son of RJD founder Lalu Prasad Yadav, experienced a sudden health concern that led to his admission to a private hospital in Patna. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning when he complained of intense abdominal pain and was promptly taken for medical care. News of his condition spread quickly, drawing attention from supporters, party workers, and the wider public.
Tej Pratap Yadav was taken to the emergency ward of Mediversal Hospital, located in the Kankadbagh area of Patna. He arrived at the hospital at around 11:00 am after experiencing persistent stomach pain that required immediate attention. Hospital authorities responded swiftly, ensuring that he was examined without delay.
A dedicated team of doctors carried out a thorough evaluation to identify the cause of the discomfort. The initial clinical assessment was conducted by Dr. Marachi Ranjan, who reviewed the symptoms and medical history. This was followed by an ultrasound examination performed by Dr. Piyush to rule out any internal complications. The diagnostic process and observation lasted for nearly two and a half hours, during which multiple tests were conducted to ensure accuracy.
After reviewing the test results, the medical team confirmed that there were no serious health issues detected. Doctors stated that his condition was stable and within normal limits at the time of discharge. He was prescribed medication to manage the pain and advised to follow a strict diet along with adequate rest. According to physicians, there was no immediate cause for concern, but careful adherence to medical advice was emphasized.
There was initial confusion due to reports suggesting that Tej Pratap Yadav had visited the same hospital the previous night. Hospital sources later clarified that his visit on Tuesday night was not related to his own health. He had gone there to meet another patient. The following morning, however, he returned to the hospital as a patient himself after experiencing severe discomfort.
Upon being discharged, Tej Pratap was seen leaving the hospital wrapped in a woollen shawl and wearing a thick muffler, indicating that he was still in the recovery phase. While speaking briefly to reporters outside the hospital premises, he reassured everyone that he was feeling much better. He also mentioned that he would strictly follow the doctors’ instructions regarding medication, diet, and rest.
Tej Pratap Yadav is the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, the founder and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal. Given his political lineage and active role in public life, any news related to his health naturally attracts widespread attention across Bihar and beyond.
Despite the sudden illness, Tej Pratap took a moment to share positive thoughts about the future. He expressed optimism about the upcoming New Year 2026, stating that it would bring good times for everyone. He extended warm wishes to his brothers, relatives, family members, and the people of Bihar. His message helped ease concerns among supporters who were initially worried after hearing about his hospitalization.
The news of his sudden health issue had briefly caused anxiety among party workers and well-wishers. However, the doctors’ confirmation of his stable condition brought significant relief. He is now resting at home and focusing on recovery. Close aides have indicated that he will resume normal activities only after fully regaining his strength, prioritizing health over immediate commitments.
