Their consumption increases more in winter than in summer and many people start eating them daily. But the question is, is eating dry fruits daily really beneficial or can it have some disadvantages?

A 100 gram serving of any dry fruit does not contain more than 16 grams of protein. That means, by eating 30 grams of dry fruits, one gets only a very small amount of protein.
All dry fruits do not increase weight and sugar, but excessive consumption of raisins and dates can be harmful. These dry fruits have high amount of calories and fat. If eaten excessively, it can increase both weight and blood sugar level. People who are already struggling with the problem of obesity should avoid eating dry fruits daily. However, it can be consumed in limited quantities occasionally.
Some people should take special care while eating dry fruits. Patients suffering from digestive problems, skin allergies, asthma and diabetes should avoid eating dry fruits. Apart from this, cashew nuts can be especially harmful for people with kidney problems or allergies. Such patients should not eat cashew nuts at all, whereas other dry fruits do not cause much harm.
Dry fruits are definitely beneficial for the body in winter, but they should be consumed only in balanced quantity. Eating excessive dry fruits can cause harm instead of benefits, so include them in your diet as per the doctor’s advice.
