Rohit Sharma needs 87 runs to script history, set to join Sachin Tendulkar’s elite list

New Delh: Star India cricketer Rohit Sharma is on the verge to script history. In 2026 when the Hitman takes the field against New Zealand in the ODI series he will have the chance to script a remarkable record.
Rohit Sharma is on the verge of a major milestone. If he scores 87 runs in the upcoming three-match ODI series he will complete 14000 List A runs in his career. He would become only the fifth Indian batter to achieve this feat joining an elite group that includes Sachin Tendulkar Virat Kohli Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid.
Rohit Sharmas List A stat
Rohit has amassed a total of 13913 runs in 352 List A matches so far. He made his List A debut for West Zone in the Deodhar Trophy in 2006 and scored 31 runs off 47 balls in a winning effort. He played his first ODI a year later.
Rohit who now plays only ODIs after retiring from T20Is and Test cricket has been in brilliant form recently. He scored 202 runs in 3 innings against Australia and carried his impressive form in the South Africa series and amasssed 146 in 3 innings
Rohit samshed his 37th century List A century
Talking about his ODI stat he has scored 11516 runs in 279 ODIs so far which includes three double centuries. Rohit captained India in the fifty-over format from 2022 to 2025. He recently represented Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy where he scored his 37th List A century. He played an impressive knock of 155 runs off 93 balls against Sikkim. Now fans are excited to see Hitman in action against New Zealand as well.
India is scheduled to face New Zealand in a three-match ODI series which will be played across Vadodara International Cricket Stadium (January 11) Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium (January 14) and Holkar Stadium (January 18)
