Indian Women’s Team Clinch T20 Series by 5-0: In the fifth match played between the Indian women’s team and the Sri Lankan women’s team, the Indian team won by 15 runs. With this victory, the Indian women’s cricket team has made a 5-0 clean sweep in the five-match T20 series against Sri Lanka. This is the third time that Indian women have won the T20 series against any team by a margin of 5-0.
India won the first match of this series by 8 wickets, after which it won the next match by 7 wickets. Team India took an unassailable lead in the series by winning the third match by 8 wickets. After this, Team India scored 221 runs in the third match and won by 30 runs, after which they won the final match by 15 runs. The Sri Lankan women’s team has played a five-match series only four times so far in T20 history. This is the first time that Sri Lanka had to face defeat by a margin of 0-5.
Team India had won all the matches of the five-match T20 series played in West Indies between 9-20 November. After winning the first match by 84 runs, Indian women won the next match by 10 wickets. After this, West Indies was defeated by 7 wickets. The fourth match of the series was of 9-9 overs due to rain, in which India won by 5 runs. After this, the final match was won by 61 runs.
India had made a 5-0 clean sweep against Bangladesh between April-May 2024. All the matches of this series were played at Sylhet International Stadium. India won the first match by 44 runs. After this, won by 19 runs on the basis of Duckworth-Lewis rule. Team India won the third match of the series by 7 wickets. After winning the fourth match by 56 runs on the basis of Duckworth-Lewis rule, India won the final match by 21 runs.
