A sad news has come to light related to Zimbabwe cricket team captain and star all-rounder Sikandar Raza. His 13 year old younger brother Muhammad Mahdi has said goodbye to this world. Zimbabwe Cricket Board shared this sad news with the fans by sharing a post on social media. Sikandar Raza will be counted among the star T20 all-rounders of the world. He has also played big leagues like IPL. He was playing in UAE International League T20 a few days ago.
Muhammad Mahdi, younger brother of Sikandar Raza, died on December 29, 2025 in Harare. He was suffering from a rare blood disorder called hemophilia since birth, in which there is a problem in blood clotting. He died due to health problems related to the disease. He was buried the next day in Warren Hills Cemetery. Zimbabwe Cricket shared a post expressing its condolences to Raza and his family and prayed for strength and peace in this time of grief.
On this occasion, teammates, fans and the entire cricket fraternity expressed condolences for Raza and his family. Sikandar Raza's cricket career has been an example of struggle and success. Raza, who has been playing international cricket since 2013, is an important player for Zimbabwe in all formats. Match-winning performances have been seen from his side with both bat and ball. He has made a name for himself by winning the Player of the Tournament title and playing a big role in historic victories in the ICC Qualifiers. In the year 2025, Raza touched new heights, when he became the world number-1 player in the ICC T20 International all-rounder rankings.
Sikandar Raza has so far played 22 Tests, 153 ODIs and 127 T20 matches for the Zimbabwean team. In Test, he has scored 1434 runs and taken 40 wickets. At the same time, he has 4476 runs in his name in ODI. At the same time, as a bowler he has taken 94 wickets. In T20, he has taken 102 wickets with 2883 runs. Apart from this, he also plays in many different cricket leagues of the world. Where he is also the first choice of the teams.
