The new year 2026 started with full enthusiasm and expectations across the country. People bid farewell to last year 2025 and welcomed 2026 with new hopes, resolutions and happiness. Meanwhile, many leaders from across the country including Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav wished the countrymen for the New Year.

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge linked the new year to the preservation of democratic values and appealed to the citizens to unite. He said that the year 2026 should be a mass movement to protect the right to work, the right to vote and the right to live life with dignity of the weaker sections. He described it as a common resolve to provide employment to the youth, safety of women, prosperity of farmers and respect for those standing at the last rung of the society.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav emphasized on humanity, love and social justice in his message.
