According to reports, OpenAI is developing a smart pen these days, which has been named Gumdrop within the company. Although no official statement has come from OpenAI regarding this project yet, the curiosity about it is continuously increasing in the tech industry.
This device may look like a normal pen, but its features make it completely different. According to reports, notes written with this smart pen can be instantly converted into digital text. That means everything written on paper will be directly saved in digital form.
Audio feature will also be provided in this pen, due to which whatever the user speaks, this device will convert it into digital notes. It is being told that it will also be equipped with voice assistant. Its biggest feature will be that this pen will be able to connect directly to ChatGPT.
Through this smart pen, whatever the user says or writes, ChatGPT will be able to read it and make notes. Not only this, it will also be possible to summarize and rewrite the text. The special thing is that this entire work can be done without mobile or laptop.
OpenAI had earlier discussed the manufacturing of this pen with Luxshare, but could not agree on the production location. Now there is news that Foxconn, the company that makes many popular gadgets including iPhone, can produce this smart pen.
With this new device, OpenAI will also face a big challenge. Earlier, many screen-free devices like Rabbit R1 and Humane AI Pin were launched, but they could not leave much impact in the market.
