New Delhi: The beginning of the year 2026 has been mixed for the common man. While people are celebrating on January 1, big news has come regarding the kitchen and business budget. Oil marketing companies have released new prices of LPG gas cylinders. This time, consumers of commercial gas cylinders have faced a huge shock of ₹ 111, while the prices of domestic LPG have given relief.

Huge jump in commercial cylinder prices

According to data released by Indian Oil (IOC), the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by ₹ 111 from today. The cylinder which was available for ₹ 1580.50 till yesterday in the country’s capital Delhi, has become available at ₹ 1691.50 from today. Similarly, its price in Kolkata has increased from ₹ 1684 to ₹ 1795. Now businessmen in the financial capital Mumbai will have to pay ₹ 1642.50 instead of ₹ 1531.50, while in Chennai this price has reached ₹ 1849.50.

Big relief to domestic LPG consumers

On one hand, while commercial cylinders have become costlier, on the other hand, it is a matter of relief for those managing home kitchens that there has been no change in the prices of 14.2 kg domestic cylinders. Domestic cylinder is still available for ₹853 in Delhi. Its price remains ₹ 852.50 in Mumbai and ₹ 890.50 in Lucknow. In Patna, the capital of Bihar, customers will have to pay ₹ 951. At the same time, in hilly and remote areas like Kargil it is stable at ₹ 985.5 and in Pulwama at ₹ 969.

Fluctuations in prices were visible in the year 2025

If we look at last year 2025, the prices of commercial cylinders had come down significantly. In Delhi it had come down from ₹ 1818.50 to ₹ 1580.50. However, domestic cylinder consumers had to face an increase of ₹50 last year. There was an average decline of ₹ 238 in commercial gas prices in metros throughout 2025, which was of great help to traders.

Prices became cheaper 10 times last year

Records show that in the year 2025, the price of 19 kg cylinder was cut 10 times. The biggest relief came in the month of July when the prices fell by ₹58.50. Apart from this, there was a cut of ₹ 51.50 in September and more than ₹ 41 in April. Although slight increases were also seen in March and October, overall last year was a decline. Now 2026 has started with a big gain of ₹111, which can impact the market.
