When speaking at the opening of Delhi Shabdotsav, a three-day literary and cultural festival taking place at the city’s Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, the Delhi chief minister made disparaging comments against the Congress politician.

Speaking to the crowd, the chief minister of Delhi emphasized the value of maintaining ties and taking pride in the nation’s ethos and civilizational legacy. He also ridiculed any attempts to portray the country negatively overseas, a clear allusion to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s divisive and controversial comments made during his visits to Western universities and public forums.

Without mentioning the Congress leader by name, she said, “You only tend to use unwanted and disrespectful words against the nation when you are disconnected from the country’s roots and its civilization; otherwise, there is no reason to do this.”

One of the biggest literary and cultural festivals in the nation, Shabdotsav, has never been organized on a government platform, according to the Chief Minister, who expressed her happiness over its planning.

India is now addressing its history, present, and future all at once. “This festival of words is a witness to its historic journey, which has taken it from the Vedic age to the digital age,” she said.

She also praised India’s rich history and civilizational might, stating that despite several attacks, the nation has always remained resilient and bravely faced every obstacle.

The world has made several attempts, in various ways, to undermine our civilization, culture, and knowledge. However, we still stand firm today because of our strong origins,” she said.

She also emphasized the government’s emphasis over the last year on honoring historical figures and commemorating all festivals with great fervor.
