Strengthening criminal control, enhancing law and order monitoring, and accelerating the investigation of ongoing cases are the goals of the decree.

The police headquarters has issued formal directives pertaining to the updated police zone structure, which represents a major change in Bihar’s security and policing system.

“This reorganization’s main goal is to minimize human mistake and delays in investigations. DGP Vinay Kumar said the media on Friday that the new approach would provide clear responsibility for police officials to guarantee high-quality investigations, allowing residents to obtain prompt and efficient justice.

According to him, the redesigned police zone organization would improve operational effectiveness and facilitate the monitoring of delicate and complicated cases, especially those involving major crimes.

A comprehensive framework for the deployment of police inspectors and other officers was created at a high-level meeting between the DGP and top police officials on December 31 in order to operationalize the plan.

As part of the reorganization exercise, which aims to make the force more dynamic and more connected with ground-level objectives, the police department is anticipated to see significant reorganizations and new appointments in the coming days.

Although there has been a decrease in crime incidences in the state, the DGP said that there is still room for development.

“We firmly believe that we can only declare that the situation in Bihar has completely improved when there are no more instances of horrible crimes like murder,” Kumar said.

The DGP highlighted the state’s efforts in combating left-wing extremism, pointing out that there are now almost no Naxal activity.

Three Naxal members recently turned themselves up to the Bihar Police, bringing their guns with them. For the last four years, they have not participated in any Naxal activity,” he said.

Kumar said that the state government has implemented a thorough rehabilitation program, which includes job possibilities, for Naxals who have surrendered and their families.

“We are working to provide every kind of support via government programs. In order for the people living in Naxal-affected regions to gain and progress toward mainstream development, welfare programs are being made sure to be implemented there,” he said.

It is anticipated that the reorganization of the police zone would be essential to bolstering law enforcement, boosting public trust, and guaranteeing long-term peace and progress across Bihar.
