Introduction to Meno Divorce

In recent times, the prevalence of some new words to relationships has increased. Earlier there was discussion about gray divorce and silent divorce, but now a new term ‘meno divorce’ has emerged. This is particularly concerning for couples aged between 45 to 65, where women are deciding to separate after being married for a long time.

Definition of Meno Divorce

Menopause means that women in the stage of perimenopause or menopause consciously decide to end their marriage. Hormonal changes occur at this age, which affect physical and mental health. Many studies show that women of this age are looking for more freedom and satisfaction.

Reasons for Meno Divorce

Hormone levels such as estrogen decline in midlife, which can lead to increased irritability, fatigue, lack of sleep, and stress. Issues that were previously ignored now seem important. When children grow up and leave home, women ask themselves whether this relationship keeps them happy. Apart from this, economic freedom and change in social thinking is also an important reason. Women in India no longer consider it necessary to stay in a relationship just for the sake of compromise.

Ways to avoid divorce

Communicating openly is most important. Tell your partner about your problems. If necessary, seek help from a doctor or counselor. Spend time together, share responsibilities and most importantly, prioritize your health and happiness. Meno Divorce is not an inevitability of divorce, rather it is a phase of self-analysis, in which the relationship can be saved with proper understanding and cooperation.
