If someone is dreaming of securing a government job with a fake degree, their chances of getting caught are now almost certain. To curb the fraud in job recruitment through fake degrees, the Rajasthan government has taken a major decision. Now, all government and private universities in the state will be required to print QR codes on their degrees, diplomas, mark sheets, and even migration certificates. This step will bring greater transparency to recruitment processes and make it possible to prevent the use of fake degrees.
It has often been observed that during recruitment, several gangs use forged documents to infiltrate the system, and departments waste months verifying them. Acting on a suggestion from the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), the Higher Education Department has issued this new order.
How will this QR code on the certificate work?
After the implementation of this new system, the authenticity of any document can be verified in a matter of seconds. As soon as the officials of the recruiting institution scan the QR code printed on a candidate's certificate, the candidate's complete record, directly linked to the original database of the concerned university, will appear before them.
Putting a stop to fake certificates
This will not only reveal whether the certificate is genuine or not, but any manipulation of marks or dates will also be immediately detected. This digital verification system will prove to be time-saving and transparent for both recruiting institutions and candidates. Under the new system, when documents are digitally verified, such forgery will become impossible. This will maintain the integrity of recruitment examinations and expedite the appointment process in government departments.
