Everyone knows that Dharma Productions had a different flair when it came to family dramas. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham were some of the finest films that can be rewatched. Karan Johar created a reputation for himself, one that linked him to such films.

The quality and frequency of such films had been decreasing for quite a while now. His latest production, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri was a massive flop at the box office. That might change with Johar’s directorial return.

Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan; Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghamwas the one movie you'd watch no matter the mood or season. The film has a special edge and as per Pinkvilla, Karan Johar wants to make a sequel to it.

“After hitting the bullseye with a romantic family comedy in the form of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Karan is returning to the family drama space with his next. Buzz is, it would be his biggest scale film till date, and Karan has brought in the New Year by locking the script of his next.”

“It’s a high-octane family drama with, of course, a strong romantic and emotional core. The film will be spearheaded by two male leads and two female leads, and the casting process is expected to kickstart soon. This will be the big ticket marque from Dharma Productions scheduled for the theatrical medium.”

It would be his return as a director since 2023’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. While it being a continuation of KKKG is only tentative, there is no confirmation of the title from Johar’s side.

Fans aren't worried that Karan Johar might be making another Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, they're more worried that he'll be casting nepo kids as leads. In a previous statement, he hypothesized a cast for a Kuch Kuch Hota Hairemake and he wanted Alia Bhatt, Ananya Panday, Sara Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor.
