MediaTek Dimensity 8500 SoC launch date: MediaTek will soon introduce its brand new Dimensity 8500 SoC, and today the company has officially announced the launch date of this upcoming chipset. The new chipset will be officially launched on January 15 at 3 pm (local time).
According to previous leaks, this upcoming chipset is built on TSMC’s 4nm process and uses an 8-core setup based on ARM’s A725 architecture. Its prime core is said to reach up to 3.4GHz (which is slightly higher than the 3.25GHz of the MediaTek Dimensity 8400). According to the report, this chipset comes with Mali-G720 GPU which has been upgraded and is running at around 1.5GHz. It is being claimed that the theoretical performance of this GPU is better than Snapdragon 8 Gen 3/ 8s Gen 4.
The AnTuTu benchmark score of this chipset is said to be around 2.2 million. Rumors also suggest that the first batch of new phones with this chipset will include a mid-range phone with a mid-screen design and a mid-range phone with a large capacity battery. After the launch of this upcoming chipset, companies like Xiaomi, Honor, Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus and others can launch their devices powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8500 SoC.
