Although spinach is available in the market throughout the year, its freshness, taste and nutrition are at its best during the winter season. This green leafy vegetable helps in keeping the body warm from within and is rich in essential nutrients like iron, fiber, vitamin A, C and K. In such a situation, if spinach is included in the diet in some smart and tasty ways, then even children can eat it without tantrums. Let us know 5 easy and healthy ways to eat spinach.

1. Spinach Cheela

Spinach cheela is a great option for morning breakfast. For this, wash the spinach thoroughly, grind it and mix it in the gram flour or semolina solution. Make cheela on pan with less oil by adding light spices. If you want, you can also add light filling of carrot, onion or capsicum in it. It is delicious as well as filling and full of nutrition.

2. Mixing spinach with lentils

The combination of pulses and spinach is very beneficial for health. Add finely chopped spinach to pigeon pea, moong or lentils and cook. This also increases the taste of pulses and the body gets plant based protein along with iron. This method is especially good for those who like to eat light and healthy food.

3. Spinach Paratha or Roti

Boil or grind raw spinach and mix it with flour and make paratha or roti from it. Avoid frying the paratha in too much oil. Applying a little desi ghee on top and eating it will enhance the taste and also provide nutrition. This is a good option for both children’s tiffin and adults’ breakfast or lunch.

4. Spinach Soup

Soup is the easiest way to keep the body warm in winter. Neither much oil nor heavy spices are required to make spinach soup. Soup made by adding lightly boiled spinach, garlic and black pepper helps in increasing immunity and also does not affect the weight.

5. Healthy Palak Paneer

Palak Paneer is considered to be the favorite dish of children. However, while making it, one should avoid using excess cream and butter. Made with less oil and limited fat, Palak Paneer is delicious and provides both protein and iron.
