Air route connecting Kuala Lumpur with Singapore named world’s third busiest

Kuala Lumpur-Singapore was named the world’s third busiest international route for 2025 with 5.6 million seats, up 4% year-on-year, according to data from British aviation firm OAG.

Served by seven carriers, it also has the lowest average economy fare among the top 10 at just US$62 one-way, highlighting intense competition, OAG said.

The route connecting two of Asia’s largest hubs and popular tourist destinations takes nearly one hour.

Hong Kong-Taipei continued to be the world’s busiest international route this year with 6.8 million seats, followed by Cairo-Jeddah route.

Seoul Incheon and Tokyo Narita route ranked fourth with 5 million seats, followed by Seoul Incheon- Osaka Kansai route with 4.9 million seats.

The rest of top 10 were Jakarta – Singapore Changi, Dubai – Riyadh, Bangkok – Hong Kong, Tokyo Narita – Taipei and New York JFK – London Heathrow.
