The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has issued strict guidelines for students appearing in the Intermediate Board Examination 2026. As preparations for the board exams intensify, the countdown has officially begun for both schools and students across the state. According to the latest notification, Intermediate practical examinations will commence from January 10, 2026, and will continue till January 20, 2026.
The board has made it clear that students who fail to appear in the practical examinations will not be allowed to sit for the theory papers. This directive has been issued to ensure seriousness, transparency, and discipline in the examination process.
BSEB has instructed all affiliated schools to conduct the Intermediate practical examinations strictly within the prescribed schedule. While the board has given schools the flexibility to decide the exact date and time of practical exams, it has emphasized that the process must be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Schools have been directed to organize practical exams according to their available resources and infrastructure. However, students must follow the schedule issued by their respective schools and ensure compulsory participation. The board has warned that absence from practical exams under any circumstances will lead to disqualification from theory examinations.
The board has already released admit cards exclusively for practical examinations. These admit cards are valid only for practical exams, and theory exam admit cards will be issued separately at a later stage.
Students can download their practical exam admit cards from the official board website till January 9, 2026. It is mandatory for students to carry the admit card to the examination center.
An important condition attached to the admit card issuance is that only students who have successfully passed the sent-up examination are eligible to appear for the practical exams. Candidates who failed to appear in or qualify the sent-up test will not be permitted to take the practical examination.
BSEB has instructed principals of all schools to ensure that students receive timely and clear information regarding the date, time, and subject-wise schedule of practical exams. Any negligence in conducting the examination process will not be tolerated.
The board has emphasized maintaining transparency and fairness during the examination to avoid future disputes or complaints.
The board has also issued special guidelines for differently-abled students. Candidates requiring a writer (scribe) must obtain prior approval from the District Education Officer. In case of any difficulty, students can contact the board’s examination helpline for assistance.
For the Intermediate Examination 2026, a total of 64,355 students have registered, including 29,842 boys and 34,513 girls. With such a large number of candidates, the board is taking extra measures to ensure smooth and disciplined conduct of both practical and theory examinations.
Students are advised to:
Download their admit cards well before the deadline
Stay in touch with school authorities for updates
Appear mandatorily in practical exams
Follow all instructions issued by BSEB carefully
Failure to comply with the guidelines may directly impact their eligibility for the theory examination.
