Every year there is a buzz about new devices in the field of technology. Mirumi, which came from Japan this year, is a unique robot which is popular on social media. It was presented at CES 2025 and has now become people’s new icon in early 2026. Its attraction lies not only in its beautiful looks, but its interactive features that make it the “Happiness Ambassador”.
Mirumi’s design is not simple, but is inspired by the mysterious Yokai creatures of Japanese folklore. Shunsuke Aoki, CEO of Yukai Engineering, says it is a “companion that spreads happiness,” which is made possible by its unique and mysterious shape.
Mirumi is not only for decoration, but its ability to respond to touch makes it special. It nods and makes human reactions when touched or patted. It can be clipped to bags or clothes, making it easy to carry. It is available in three colors pink, beige and grey.
Mirumi’s videos and pictures are becoming increasingly viral on Instagram and other social media platforms. Famous Romanian actress Lora has described it as her “anti-stress medicine”. It is clear from this that it is not just a technical product but is also establishing an emotional connection.
Pre-orders for Mirumi will begin on Kickstarter from January 21, 2026. Its demand is increasing rapidly among technology enthusiasts and gadget collectors. The demand for the first batch is such that it may be out of stock in a short time.
Although there is a lot of buzz internationally, it is not clear when Mirumi will be available in India. Indian users have raised this demand on social media. If it is introduced here, it will become the center of attraction for everyone from children to youth.
