Realme 16 Pro Series Launched In India Today: Chinese smartphone manufacturer Realme has launched its first smartphones of 2026 under the 16 Pro series in India. The lineup includes the Realme 16 Pro+ and Realme 16 Pro, aiming to strengthen the company’s hold on the upper mid-range smartphone segment. Along with the smartphones, Realme has also launched the Realme Pad 3 and Realme Buds Air 8 TWS in the country. Both the Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+ run Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16 out of the box.
Realme has promised three major Android updates and four years of security patches. The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G will be available in Master Gold, Master Grey, and an India-exclusive Camellia Pink. The Realme 16 Pro 5G will come in Master Gold, Pebble Grey, and an India-exclusive Orchid Purple.

The Realme 16 Pro+ features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,280 x 2,800 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and peak brightness of up to 6,500 nits. The Realme 16 Pro 5G comes with a slightly smaller 6.78-inch AMOLED display at 1,272 x 2,772 pixels, offering 1,400 nits peak brightness, 450 ppi pixel density, and the same maximum refresh rate. The dual SIM smartphones include an in-display fingerprint sensor for easy security. The Pro+ model is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, while the standard 16 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max. Both devices pack 8GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB of storage and are powered by a massive 7000mAh battery with 80W fast wired charging.
For durability, the phones carry multiple resistance certifications, including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K, making them highly resistant to water and dust. In terms of cameras, the series sports a 200-megapixel primary rear camera. The Realme 16 Pro has an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, while the 16 Pro+ features a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens.
Both phones have 50-megapixel front cameras, and the Pro+ can record videos in 4K at 60fps. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB Type-C port. The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G measures 8.49mm in thickness and weighs 203g, while the 16 Pro 5G is 7.8mm thick and weighs 192g.
Realme 16 Pro+ 5G price in India is set at Rs. 39,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and Rs. ₹41,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option. Realme 16 Pro 5G price in India starts at Rs. ₹31,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. Meanwhile, the higher-end option with 8GB RAM+256GB storage costs Rs. 33,999. Both the new smartphones will go on sale in India on January 9 via Flipkart and the Realme online store.
