As per an exclusive Deadline report, Sebastian Stan is in talks to join DC Studios’ upcoming project, and if the deal materialises, he would share screen space with Robert Pattinson, who returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman, and Scarlett Johansson. The potential casting has already sparked buzz as one of DC’s most interesting developments in recent times, though the studio has so far remained tight-lipped on the matter.

Stan is widely recognised for his long-running stint in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he portrayed Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier, for over a decade. His association with one of the most iconic superhero characters has firmly established him as a familiar and bankable face in the genre.

Sebastian Stan was last seen in Marvel’s Thunderbolts and is also lined up to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, slated for release later in 2026. If his DC casting comes through, it would mark a rare and notable jump between rival superhero universes for an actor so closely associated with the MCU.

A majority of users think that Sebastian Stan’s character might die in Avengers: Doomsday and that is why he is in talks for The Batman Part 2.

Another point fuelling the speculation is the fact that Sebastian Stan is unlikely to juggle major roles in both Marvel and DC projects simultaneously. This has led fans to believe that his part in Avengers: Doomsday could be relatively limited, potentially allowing him the bandwidth to take on a significant role in The Batman Part II.

One user commented, “Bucky’s finally biting the dust… or is he just trading the metal arm for a Bat-signal gig? Hell, with that brooding intensity, he might even make a better Bruce Wayne than the sparkly one we’ve got.”

Another user commented, “Of course he's dying. What does have against Doom besides a single vibranium arm?”

One user reacted, “he's better as an antagonist, i hope he's the joker or something i will literally make my pzz flow like the nile river.”

At present, there is no official word on the character Stan may play in The Batman Part II, with DC Studios keeping all details under wraps. That said, industry chatter indicates the role could be significant and pivotal to the film’s storyline.

Several unverified reports have speculated that Stan could be in contention to play Harvey Dent, Gotham’s district attorney who eventually transforms into the iconic villain Two-Face. Though no confirmation has been issued by the makers so far.
