Anil Aggarwal's son Agnivesh passes away.
Agnivesh, son of Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal, has passed away. Anil Aggarwal himself has given information about his son's demise. In a post he wrote- Today is the worst day of my life. My beloved son Agnivesh left us very soon. He was only 49 years old. He was healthy, full of life and dreams. He was recovering in New York's Mount Sinai Hospital after a skiing accident in America. We thought that the worst was over but fate had something else in store. Sudden cardiac arrest took away our son from us.
Anil Aggarwal said, no words can describe the pain of a parent who has to say goodbye to his child. The son should not go before the father. Agnivesh's demise has broken us. I still remember the day when Agnivesh was born on 3 June 1976 in Patna. From a middle-class Bihari family, he grew up to be a strong, kind and purposeful person.
He said, he was the light of his mother's life, a protective brother, a loyal friend and a noble person. Agnivesh was a player, a musician, a leader. He studied at Mayo College, Ajmer. Then established one of the best companies Fujairah Gold. Became the chairman of Hindustan Zinc and earned the respect of his colleagues and friends. Still, despite his achievements, he remained a simple, friendly and heartfelt person.
He further wrote in the same post, for me he was not just my son, he was my friend, my pride and my world. Kiran and I are broken. Still, in our grief we remind ourselves that the thousands of youth working in Vedanta are also our children. Agnivesh had deep faith in making a self-reliant India. He used to say, Papa, as a country we do not lack anything. Why should we ever lag behind?
We had a dream that no child should sleep hungry, no child should be deprived of education, every woman should stand on her own feet and every youth of the country should have meaningful work. I promised him that whatever we earn, we will give more than 75% to the society. Today, I reiterate that promise and resolve to live a more simple life.
Anil Aggarwal said, he had a lot of life in front of him. Many dreams were yet to be fulfilled. His absence has left a void for his family and friends. We thank all his friends, colleagues and well-wishers who were always with him. Son, you will live on in our hearts, in our work, and in every life you touched. I don't know how I will walk this path without you but I will try to carry your light forward.
