UP: A woman is accused of concealing her Pakistani citizenship in order to get a teaching position

UP: According to sources cited by PTI, police have filed a formal complaint against a lady who reportedly concealed her Pakistani identity in order to get a government teaching position in Uttar Pradesh. Following a report from the Basic Education Department, the case against her was filed at the Azim Nagar police station in Rampur. The lady allegedly used fraudulent papers to get a job, according to an internal departmental investigation.

Mahira Akhtar, also known as Farzana, has been recognized as the accused. She was employed by the Basic Education Department in Kumhariya Village as a primary school teacher.

The lady married a Pakistani person in 1979 and then obtained Pakistani citizenship, according to the authorities. She reportedly used a Pakistani passport to travel to India after her divorce and wed a local in 1985.

According to the police, she joined the Basic Education Department at around the same time and claimed to be an Indian citizen. Her Pakistani nationality was discovered via a verification procedure, which exposed the problem.

The accused will have their employment terminated.
The department initially suspended her and then terminated her services in response to the findings. Police filed a formal complaint against her based on the department’s findings.

According to Anurag Singh, an additional superintendent of police, an investigation is now under progress, and pertinent evidence is being gathered. No arrests have been made so far, he said.Sections 318(4), 336, 338, and 340 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have been used to file a formal complaint for forgery and cheating. She allegedly used a fictitious residency document to get employment in the education department despite being a citizen of Pakistan, he claimed.
