If getting your steps in is one of your New Year's resolutions, a comfy pair of trainers could be just the thing to help you along. And when it comes to comfort, Skechers is a bit of a household name (their brand ethos is "comfort starts from the ground up" after all), and one pair of trainers has caught our eye thanks to a significant discount on Amazon.
The Summits Artistry Chic Trainers usually retail at £59, but the white version of the shoe has been reduced to just £29.99 on Amazon, reports the Manchester Evening News.
They're available in sizes two to 10, with selected half sizes also available. The trainers are also available in navy and lavender, which are on sale, but the white version is currently the most affordable and has the best size availability among the three.
They have a breathable mesh upper and the Skechers' trademark cushioned memory foam insole, which they claim is one of the key elements that provide comfort. The brand also says they have a shock-absorbing midsole and traction on the sole to minimise the risk of slips and falls, making them a great option for walks and exercise.
With a slip-on design, they are ideal for individuals with limited mobility or those who prefer not to struggle with laces. And, if the idea of keeping white trainers clean is a concern, there's good news. These ones are machine washable, so when they get dirty, simply pop them in the washing machine, hang them out to dry, and they'll be back to their former fresh selves.
The trainers seem to be very popular, with over 3,500 reviews on Amazon. One said: "I got recommended these by my physiotherapist, and this is my second pair now. I've also got them in black for outfit change, mainly. I bought a pair of Skechers boots too."
They continued: "I can walk much better and further because they're so comfortable and supportive, it's like walking on clouds. I wish they did smarter footwear too, with the same cushioning. They're amazing. The lack of laces to bend down and do up when they come undone is a bonus too."
Another wrote: "Really comfy and supportive shoes. Always good quality, and I find they last a long time. I wear these when out walking, but also for jogging. Love that they can be washed so easily (I pop them in the washing machine). These are classic yet pretty with the hint of pink."
A third review said: "I have broad feet and these fit really well. They are very lightweight and feel as comfortable as slippers. The inner sole is very soft. I have walked for miles in these and had no blisters."
"This is the second pair of this style I've bought," a third added. "My last pair has lasted me for years, so I had no hesitation buying these. Comfortable, hard-wearing (for walks, not hikes), and the best trainers I've ever had."
However, one shopper had an issue with the shoes being slip-ins, saying: "I am returning these sneakers with a heavy heart. Sizing is perfect for me. I am 7.5 wide, and 7.5 fits me perfectly. I love the colours, and it's so comfy. It would have been perfect for my upcoming trip. Here's the but, I struggled to get my foot through the ankle hole; they are slip-on, so the laces are just cosmetic. Had they been functional, I would have been in heaven. I considered a shoe horn, tried different way,s but each time I nearly broke my fingers."
However, shoppers who like to adjust the tightness of the fit of their shoes might want to consider a pair with functional laces.
