The Haryana government has launched a major welfare initiative to support farmers who dream of owning a tractor but struggle due to financial limitations. Under this special scheme, eligible farmers can receive up to ₹3 lakh as financial assistance for purchasing a new tractor. The scheme aims to promote farm mechanisation, improve productivity, and strengthen the economic condition of small and marginal farmers in the state.

However, farmers should act quickly, as the application deadline is January 15, 2026. Missing the deadline will mean losing the opportunity to benefit from this government support.

Objective of the Scheme

Modern farming requires advanced machinery, but many farmers are unable to afford it due to limited income. To address this issue, the Haryana government introduced the Tractor Subsidy Scheme (SB-89), specifically designed for Scheduled Caste (SC) farmers.

The primary objective of this scheme is to encourage mechanised farming by enabling farmers to purchase tractors with 45 Horse Power (HP) or above. By reducing dependence on traditional farming methods, the government hopes to increase crop yield, reduce manual labour, and enhance farmers’ overall income.

Subsidy Amount and Benefits

Under this scheme:

  • Selected farmers will receive financial assistance of up to ₹3 lakh

  • The subsidy directly reduces the burden of loans and personal savings

  • Farmers can choose tractors from authorised dealers

  • Improved mechanisation leads to better efficiency and long-term cost savings

This financial support plays a crucial role in empowering farmers and making agriculture more sustainable.

Important Dates to Remember

  • Application Start Date: December 27, 2025

  • Last Date to Apply: January 15, 2026

Applications submitted after January 15 will not be accepted under any circumstances. Farmers are advised not to wait until the last day.

Who Is Eligible for the Scheme?

To ensure the benefits reach genuine beneficiaries, the government has defined strict eligibility criteria:

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Haryana

  • The scheme is only for Scheduled Caste (SC) farmers

  • Registration on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB)’ portal is mandatory

  • The farmer or a family member listed in the Family ID must own agricultural land

  • The applicant should not have received tractor subsidy from the agriculture department in the last five years

  • The tractor purchased under the scheme cannot be sold for at least five years

Failure to meet any of these conditions may lead to rejection of the application.

Selection Process

After the application window closes, beneficiaries will be selected through a transparent process:

  • A District Level Executive Committee (DLEC), chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, will oversee selection

  • If applications exceed the target number, selection will be done through a lottery system

  • The final list of selected beneficiaries will be published online

Once selected, farmers can negotiate with authorised dealers and complete the purchase.
