A heart-wrenching incident came to light in Harman Nagar, Punjab on Thursday morning. Here a man, his wife and two daughters were found dead. Family members were found dead inside their house. A 42-year-old man committed suicide after allegedly killing his wife and two young daughters, police said. This shocking incident came to light when no response was received despite repeated knocks at the house.
Police officials said that the matter is being investigated from all angles so that the reason behind these tragic deaths can be known. According to the police, the family's maid reached the house on Thursday morning and found that the main gate was locked from inside. After knocking several times and getting no response, he informed a tenant and a neighbor living nearby. When no response came from inside the house, the gate was broken. Inside, all four family members were lying soaked in blood. Police were immediately informed.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bhupinder Singh said preliminary investigation suggests that Amandeep Singh may have committed suicide after killing his wife and daughters. However, he also made it clear that all possible aspects are being investigated.
“It seems to be a case of suicide by Amandeep, who has apparently killed his family members, but the police will investigate all possible aspects,” the SSP said.
No final conclusions have been made yet and further investigation is ongoing. Police said that Amandeep Singh worked as a builder and financier. She had recently started a new salon, which was to be inaugurated in the coming days. The family had shifted to this house only five months ago. Another family from Jharkhand lived as tenants on the first floor of the same building, while Amandeep and his family lived on the ground floor.
Police teams have started examining CCTV footage of the surrounding area to ascertain the sequence of events. The statements of the neighbours, the maid and the tenant living above have already been recorded. The SSP said that the focus of the investigation will be on understanding the motive and circumstances behind the incident. This incident has shocked the residents of Harman Nagar. Neighbors described the family as peaceful and said they had never seen any serious disputes. The death of two little girls has created an atmosphere of deep sorrow in the area. Police said more information will be shared as the investigation progresses.
