According to The Starthe 63-year-old actor spoke about the gift during a recent appearance at a promotional event for a car brand, which he attended with 23-year-old Jada Li.

“My younger daughter said to me, ‘You remember you have four daughters, right? You must treat us all fairly,’” Li recounted with a laugh, drawing amusement from the audience.

He then added, half joking and half exasperated, “What am I going to do if four sons-in-law turn up in the future?”

Si Li, 38, held her wedding in August 2025. Entertainment outlet 8days reported that she had personally chosen the car brand.

Born in Beijing, Li faced financial hardship after his father died when he was just two years old. He was recognized for his wushu talent at the age of eight and went on to become China’s national all-around champion from 1975 to 1979 before retiring at 18 due to a knee injury. He later served as an assistant coach with the Beijing Wushu Team.

Li’s sporting success paved the way for his career in martial arts films. His 1982 breakout film “Shaolin Temple” shattered box-office records in China, earning 161 million yuan. Its 1984 sequel “Kids From Shaolin” became the country’s highest-grossing film of that year.

He made his international film debut in the 1998 film “Lethal Weapon 4” and later starred in Hollywood blockbusters such as “The Expendables” series and “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.” In 2011, Li confirmed that he had obtained Singaporean citizenship, according to AFP.

Jada and her elder sister Jane, 26, are the two daughters Li shares with his second wife, former Hong Kong actress Nina Li Chi. His two older daughters, Si and Taimi, 37, are from his first marriage to Huang Qiuyan, a fellow Beijing Wushu Team member and his co-star in “Kids From Shaolin.”
