New Delhi: The GR Yaris is one of the most stylish and outrageous hatchbacks from Toyota, and now they have made it even cooler. The Japanese brand debuted the GR Yaris Morizo RR, a limited Yaris made for the track. It made its debut at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon.

The GR Yaris Morizo RR is a bit more leaning towards its motorport template. It has been developed with direct input from Tokyo chairman Akio Toyoda; the Marizo RR builds on the learnings of endurance racing, including the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

The car comes with a Direct Automatic transmission and is tuned for faster shifts and better control. The suspension also gets sharper, and there is even a new dedicated 4WD mode, which has a torque split of 50:50. This will ensure the car is more planted and much more predictable when going around tight bends. Despite the tweaking in suspension, Toyota have said that it will remain good for daily driving.

In terms of looks, the Morizo RR does stand out, getting a carbon-fibre rear wing and front spoiler that increase downforce as well as reduce weight. Yellow brake callipers add a little contrast to the Gravel Khaki colour. The interior gets some subtle upgrades, and most notably, it gets a special suede-finished racing steering wheel.

Toyota have planned for just 200 examples of the GR Yaris Morizo RR across the world, falling between Japan and Europe. In fact, potential buyers have to enter a lottery system for the hope of getting their hands on Morizo RR. The cars are supposed to be ready by the spring of 2026.
