A big update has come out for HDFC Bank Debit Card users. The country’s largest private sector bank has made major changes in the rules. Physical debit card based lounge access will not be accepted from January 10. Now voucher based lounge access will be valid. Apart from this, the quarterly expenditure has also been increased to Rs 10 thousand, which was earlier Rs 5 thousand. The bank has given information about the new rules through an official notification.
Under the new rules, now the customer will have to spend Rs 10,000 in a calendar quarter to avail lounge benefits. Only then will the facility of complimentary launch access be available. You will get the benefit of this facility without any expense on Infinity Debit Card. However, ATM cash withdrawal will not be included in this. Supplementary access will be available only on in-store or online purchases made through HDFC Bank Debit Card. This change will be applicable to both single and multiple transactions. UPI and wallet based expenses will also not be valid.
On completion of stipulated spend, you will receive an SMS/mail on the registered mobile number or email ID within two working days. In which a link will be available to claim the lounge access voucher. The customer will have to claim the voucher by clicking on this link. After this, a 12 to 18 digit voucher code will be sent to the registered email ID or mobile number. The bank will also share validity and helpline details.
HDFC Bank has prescribed lounge visit limits for different debit card types. Millennia, Times and Giga debit cards will get one complimentary lounge access every quarter. Platinum and Business Debit Card users will be given two complimentary lounge access per quarter. This limit for Infinity Debit Card is 4.
The validity of the voucher will be till the next quarter. If the voucher is received on January 10, its validity will be June 30, 2026. The validity of the voucher received on 31st March will be 30th June 2026.
