Sarfaraz Khan Record: Sarfaraz Khan, who has scored a lot of runs on the home grounds of Indian cricket, has once again given a befitting reply to the selectors. While playing against Punjab in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025, Sarfaraz achieved a feat which no Indian legend could do in the last 51 years.
Sarfaraz Khan has made the historical record of scoring the fastest fifty for India in List-A cricket by scoring a half-century in just 15 balls.
India played its first List-A (ODI) match in the year 1974. Half a century has passed since then, but the pace of no Indian batsman had reached 15 balls. Sarfaraz Khan has touched a new peak by leaving behind the 16-ball record of Maharashtra’s Abhijeet Kale and Atit Seth. This has also become the world’s fourth fastest List-A half-century.
Sarfaraz Khan’s current form is no less than a boon for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) before IPL 2026. MS Dhoni’s team bought him for just Rs 75 lakh, which now looks like a masterstroke. Sarfaraz Khan has played for three different teams in IPL so far. He has scored 585 runs in 50 IPL matches at an average of 22.50, which includes one half-century.
Sarfaraz Khan has played 43 List A matches so far, in which he has scored 932 runs at an average of 42.36. This includes 3 centuries and 2 half-centuries. It is worth noting that Sarfaraz Khan has not yet got a chance to debut for India in ODI or T20 matches.
